An Olympia WA Chiropractor's Letter to Santa

Dear Santa:
It is that time of year again! At our chiropractic clinic in Olympia WA we LOVE Christmas! The lights, the songs, the smells, the cool crisp air, and Jack Frost nipping at our noses help to distract us from the everyday grind. BUT!!! We also think about everything you must go through and the possible ways you can get hurt as you travel around the globe this season. Here are some things that may occur, tips to avoid them, and how we can help you if you have the inevitable accident.

Workman's comp cases in Olympia WA filed by elves

HOW TO AVOID: The elves should be working at a table appropriate for their size which allows them to see and reach items quickly without having to bend for long periods of time. If an elf must sit, make sure the chair is supportive in the low back and the arms.

OUR FIX: At Evergreen Family Chiropractic we can teach the elves proper stance and posture when standing or sitting which will alleviate the strain on them and increase their productivity.

Difficult landing of the sleigh on uneven rooftops

HOW TO AVOID: Make sure you are aware of the rooftop conditions and adjust your speed accordingly. There could be unseen ice or the snow is thicker than you expect. There could also be hidden objects that you don't notice until it is too late.

OUR FIX: sleigh related injuries are tricky but manageable. If you develop whiplash from hard landings, we can adjust your neck to increase the functionality of your spine while the soft tissues heal. If your low back hurts from millions of hard landings, we have a decompression table to help take the pressure of your spine to allow the discs, muscles, and nerves to heal.

Carrying toys while climbing up and down chimneys can make your muscles sore

HOW TO AVOID: Please stretch properly and thoroughly before even getting into your sleigh. Make sure to use proper lifting techniques when carrying the sack and make sure the weight is distributed equally across your shoulders and back to keep you balanced. If possible, attach straps that can wrap around your waist to help distribute the weight more evenly across your whole body. Make sure you are using proper breathing techniques to make the climbs easier and so your muscles can work the most efficiently.

OUR FIX: Even with proper lifting and breathing techniques, your body is going to be tired. The morning after Christmas your will probably experience what is called Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness. This is when your muscles begin to tighten and ache after a day or so following heavy activity. A relaxing and therapeutic massage is just the perfect gift we can give to you. At Evergreen Family Chiropractic we have an amazing massage therapist who is trained in many techniques to make sure your body can heal properly and be ready for the next year.

Santa, we at Evergreen Family Chiropractic want you to have a very merry but safe Christmas this year. But we are here to help you when those unavoidable accidents occur. We would love it if you endorsed us as the Official Chiropractor of Santa in Olympia, Washington, USA. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

- With love, the Evergreen Family Chiropractic Team!
PS: We have all been very good this year!
